A transitional story, inspired by the St Ives School in Cornwall which became a centre for modern and abstract developments in British art from the 1940s to the 1960s. Barbara Hepworth’s abstract sculptures and Ben Nicholson’s linear approach inspired prints over fabrics of linen and cotton and a colour palette of natural tones of greys and blues with flashes of red and ginger. With an artisanal rustic feel that reflects the rugged Cornish coastline, knits are ribbed and textured and indigo yarn-dyed hemp cotton in stripes and checks complete the look.
