Making Modernism

This adventurous, unconventional story begins with a painting by Russian artist, Marianne Werefkin, whose work is celebrated as a central part of German Expressionism. Her rich and intense use of colour inspired looks that are fresh and summery yet have sophistication and vibrancy. Shades of grey are set with brighter tones of emerald, jade, cornflower blue and decadent chocolate. The mood is chic and artistic; wide palazzo pants paired with fine gauge gauzy linen knits. Cashmere is loose and luxe. Woven statement stripes are textured and tactile. Silk linen blouses unbutton to reveal a tantalising glimpse of fine gold jewellery.
