Considered one of the pioneers of abstract art in Europe, the Lithuanian composer and painter Mikalojus Konstantinas Ciurlionis explored early abstraction, philosophy and our relationship to the universe. His use of pastels gave his work a softness amid references to traditional Japanese art, inspiring this story with its nod to the Far East.
