In a loopback knit, our heavier weight hemp and organic cotton jersey is a warm comfortable fabric, ideal for casual loungewear.
The hemp gives the jersey a lovely drape, whilst the cotton adds weight and stability.
We garment-dye the styles to give them a laundered, casual appearance. For this heavier-weight we use pigment dye which gives a naturally marled colour.
The hemp fibre is very strong and softens through washing. It is natural, breathable, absorbs moisture and dye easily, has anti-bacterial properties, is an effective insulator keeping you cool in summer and warm in winter. In environmental terms, hemp is particularly good as it grows very easily, and is resistant to pests.
The cotton is grown in India and certified by Organic Cotton Standard which ensures that it has been grown solely in organic farms that take care of the soil, ecosystem, and people, by relying on biodiversity and local natural cycles.
The yarn, fabric and garments are all made by our supplier based in Rushan, to the north of Shanghai. The garment factory is powered by solar panels and focuses on producing environmentally-friendly clothing using hemp. We are proud to have worked with this supplier and their team for more than ten years.
