Fibre
The alpacas are responsibly farmed in the Peruvian highlands, where the yarn is also spun and dyed. Thanks to their soft hooves and gentle feeding habits, alpacas have a light impact on the land on which they graze. Our wool is supplied by Südwolle, a family-owned German company that has specialised in spinning wool since its foundation in 1966. The wool fibres are sourced from merino sheep in Australia and South America.
Fabric
Our knitted baby alpaca and wool mix fabric is wonderfully soft and perfect for cosy jumpers and cardigans. The fibres are 'top' dyed before being spun into yarn. This process results in beautiful melange colours and a softer hand feel. Each panel is knitted to the shape of the garment which therefore creates less wastage. Panels and trims are attached using a hand-linking machine, resulting in a premium, high-quality garment.
Factory
Focused on creating low volume, high-quality garments, our Dongguan, near Hong Kong, based supplier is owned and managed by Jackie, recently with the involvement of his charming son Chapman. It is always a pleasure to visit Jackie and receive a sample from him as he nearly always interprets the design so well.
