Fibre
Our cotton is sourced in India.
Modal is a cellulosic man-made fibre created from natural wood pulp. The wood pulp is purified and transformed into cellulose which then is extruded into yarn. Modal feels similar to silk, it is soft breathable and has a great drape.
We aim to avoid synthetic fibres in our collections, but very small amounts of elastane give the garment that extra comfort.
Fabric
Corduroy is made by weaving extra sets of fibre into the base fabric to form vertical piles. It makes soft and versatile fabric. The modal fibres in the fabric give it a better drape and a cooler touch, while the small amount of elastane adds stretch and provides extra freedom of movement. Corduroy fabric has a long history: first created in ancient Egypt, then adapted by the British monarchy and re-discovered by 70’s bohemians, it remains one of the most loved natural autumn/winter fabrics.
Factory
The garments are made in Portugal by our supplier with whom we have worked for almost 10 years. Carla is always forthcoming and expert in her field, always a pleasure to work with.
