Fibre
Our wool is responsibly farmed in Australia, South Africa, New Zealand, Argentina, and Uruguay. The selected farms follow best practices in land management and respect the Five Freedoms of animal welfare: freedom from hunger and thirst; freedom from discomfort; freedom from pain, injury, and disease; freedom to express normal behaviour; and freedom from fear and distress. The wool is also mulesing-free.
The alpacas are responsibly farmed in the Peruvian highlands, where the spinning and dyeing of the yarn also occurs. Alpacas' impact is light on the land they graze which makes them one of the most environmentally friendly animals.
Fabric
Our knitted baby alpaca and wool mix fabric is wonderfully soft and perfect for cosy jumpers and cardigans. The fibres are 'top' dyed before being spun into yarn. This process results in beautiful melange colours and a softer hand feel. Each panel is knitted to the shape of the garment which therefore creates less wastage. Panels and trims are attached using a hand-linking machine, resulting in a premium, high-quality garment
Factory
Focused on creating low volume, high-quality garments, our Dongguan, near Hong Kong, based supplier is owned and managed by Jackie, recently with the involvement of his charming son Chapman. It is always a pleasure to visit Jackie and receive a sample from him as he nearly always interprets the design so well.
