Fibre
Our organic cotton is grown in India, Turkey and Kyrgyzstan. The cotton is certified by Organic Cotton Standard which ensures that it has been grown solely on organic farms that take care of the soil, ecosystem and people by relying on biodiversity and local natural cycles.
Our hemp fibres come from France and China. Similar in character to linen, hemp is exceptionally strong and naturally softens with washing, developing a beautifully relaxed handle over time. It is naturally breathable, moisture-absorbent and its insulating qualities help to keep you cool in summer and warm in winter. Often referred to as a ‘super fibre’, hemp is a fast-growing and efficient crop that requires minimal water, fertilisers and pesticides to grow.
Fabric
Our mid-weight hemp and organic cotton jersey, ideal for creating softly textured tops, tunics and trousers. The hemp gives the jersey a lovely drape, whilst the cotton adds weight and stability. The fabric is not sheer, even in pale colours. The colouring happens on finished garments which allows us to dye only the amounts and colours we know our customers like. The fabric will continue to soften each time you wash it.
Factory
The yarn, fabric and garments are all made by our supplier based in Rushan, to the north of Shanghai. The garment factory is powered by solar panels and focuses on producing environmentally-friendly clothing using hemp. We are proud to have worked with this supplier and their team for more than ten years.
