Fibre
The alpacas are responsibly farmed in the Peruvian highlands, where the spinning and dyeing of the yarn also occurs. Alpacas' impact is light on the land they graze which makes them one of the most environmentally friendly animals.
Fabric
One of our favourite materials is alpaca fibre because of its softness, warmth and great next to skin feel. The fibres are 'top' dyed before being spun into yarn. This process results in beautiful melange colours and a softer hand feel. Each panel is knitted to the shape of the garment which therefore creates less wastage. Panels and trims are attached using a hand-linking machine, resulting in a premium, high-quality garment.
Factory
One of our newest knitwear suppliers is located in Peru. We chose to work with them because of their excellent skills, drawn from centuries of tradition using materials such as alpaca, cotton and wool, all of which are available locally.
