Fibre
Our organic cotton is grown in India, Turkey and Kyrgyzstan. The cotton is certified by Organic Cotton Standard which ensures that it has been grown solely in organic farms that take care of the soil, ecosystem and people by relying on biodiversity and local natural cycles.
Fabric
Once spun the yarn is knitted into a French terry jersey fabric. French terry, also called loopback fabric has soft loops on the inside of the fabric and a smooth surface on the outside. It is a fabric which is slightly thicker than a typical jersey with a distinctive cosy feel. Some colours are pigment-dyed, which means that pigments are locked into the surface of the fabric with a binder, similar to traditional printing. This gives the garments a laundered, casual appearance. The colouring takes place on finished garments, allowing us to dye only the quantities and colours we know our customers prefer.
Factory
The yarn, fabric and garments are all made by our supplier based in Rushan, to the north of Shanghai. The garment factory is powered by solar panels and focuses on producing environmentally-friendly clothing using hemp. We are proud to have worked with this supplier and their team for more than ten years.
