Fibre
Silk is one of the softest and strongest natural fibres and is made by silk moths. Typically used as a long, continuous filament, silk can also be used in shorter fibre-lengths as ‘spun silk’, to achieve more unusual textures. Our premium quality spun silk is sourced in China.
Fabric
Our mid-weight, 19.5 momme spun silk fabric is woven in a classic plain-weave structure, creating a lightweight fabric with an elegant, fluid drape. Also known as ‘Fuji silk’, it has a beautifully smooth, fine, suede-like texture. The silk garment has been sandwashed to achieve a soft hand feel.
Factory
The garments are made by our supplier in China region where silk has been produced for thousands of years. Huzhou city where the factory is located is often called the “hometown of silk” as it is considered to be one of the birthplaces for silk cultivation and still produces one of the best quality silks in the world.
